Now, why is this worth making into a Freelancer mod? Well, here are some ideas: It was one of many, many, Many ideas I had concerning Freelancer, where mods went right and wrong, the possibilities of the engine, more exciting varieties of combat, proper community design, the concept of live roleplay, creative storytelling, so on and so forth. The technical document I was writing is currently outside of my reach, so until or unless anybody asks for it, I'm substituting my own recollection of it, with fancy pictures to keep people vaguely interested. But for the sake of my own conscience, if nothing else, I'm going to dump this entire idea here on this thread. Nor was I ever in contact with any high-level mod developers, or a sizable number of people willing to listen to, let alone support, the concept. The following is a long-forgotten piece of private mod development which I could not find any support for from the western Gundam fan community. I'm also a solid writer, and a fan of the involved genres, so give me the benefit of the doubt, a few minutes of your time, and maybe a response or two. Suffice it to say I was on Discovery for quite some time, and I fiddled with Freelancer on my own, so I have a good idea of what can and can't be done. However, players can restock on new tools and weapons from Suppliers, new NPCs that players can find during missions and purchase gear from. That includes consumables like explosives or poison syringes used on a mission. Speaking of weapons, Agent 47's gear in Freelancer "is not persistent." So, whatever players bring with them on a mission and don't bring back will be lost to them when they return to the safehouse. For example, there is the mission hub where Agent 47 can view the available Freelancer campaigns, and a firing range where players can test out new weapons. The safehouse is customizable and can be explored as players unlock new areas and customization options as they progress through Freelancer. It is also where players return to after they complete a mission in Freelancer mode. The other new elements include hidden stashes, safes, and even NPC assassins.įreelancer will add a new map and playable space called Agent 47's Safehouse, where players can strategize, restock, resupply, and pick out new suits for Agent 47 before heading out on a mission. Also, campaign missions have been reworked into Freelancer mode, so they will have new NPCs that can help or hinder Agent 47's progress. Once they eliminate the enterprise's leader, players will be paid for completing the campaign. In the Freelancer mode, the campaigns will have Agent 47 target the leaders of each criminal enterprise, and players can choose the order they want to play the missions. Each campaign comes with its own missions, and each one will take players on a "globetrotting campaign" across different locations. In Freelancer, players can choose among several campaigns that each represent a prominent criminal enterprise in Hitman's World of Assassination. ![]() One of the new game modes being added to Hitman 3 this year is called Freelancer, a new single-player mode that adds new rogue-like elements to the game.
